Info: Uninstalling Ad-Aware Web Companion itself is not that difficult. But, when it comes to computer performance, privacy and/or the term Bloatware, regular readers would run into trouble when trying to get the work done effectively. Why? Study shows: Web Companion could be installed along with some freeware; needlessly to mention that, once Web Companion is installed completely, your homepage will be changed to Bing or Yahoo!.

- Save this thread on your local disk, save your personal stuff then, restart your computer and then, log into yr system as the admin user.
- Exit the running Ad-Aware Web Companion.
- Go to yr apps list on the Start menu or, the programs list under Control Panel. Find out then locate your own build of Web Companion, then press Enter or, launch the Uninstall/Change option.
- If you prefer to restore your homepage and/or search engine settings, you manually check the following 2 checkboxes then, hit the Remove button.
- Hit the Close button on the "Web Companion" (uninstall wizard) below.
- Complete Lavasoft's uninstall survey, or close that page directly.
- Reset Firefox's "Search Settings" and, clear all of Lavasoft related remains in your system.
