Info: This thread contains troubleshooting information you may use to uninstall TunnelBear (aka, "TunnelBear VPN" (for Chrome)) from your computer. You can also make the best of this update to get rid of any other unwanted programs in your operating system. One more thing: disable or uninstall Microsoft Framework .NET 4.6 later, if you do not use that application.
Below are detailed removal instructions.
I. If you're running a Windows (10) computer, try following these steps.
1. As usual, you need the admin access to make further changes to your system. Save any personal data, disconnect your computer from TunnelBear's VPN server. Then exit the client. To do this, check the "Show hidden icons" area in the taskbar and launch the Exit option on the menu.
Additionally, run Task Manager and, manually terminate the highlighted process as follows.
2. Head to Control Panel, press the link "Uninstall a program". Locate the target security app, and launch the embedded Uninstall option on the programs list.
4. Once the below untitled window comes up, hit the grey Uninstall button.
5. Sit tight while your removal request is being processed.
7. Try clearing out TunnelBear-related in your operating system later, at your own risk.
II. If you installed TunnelBear on Google Chrome browser, the below 4 steps would help U out.
1. Locate the TunnelBear's logo on Chrome.
2. Right click on that app, and launch "Remove from Chrome..." option.
3. Confirm the removal request by pressing the Remove button.
4. Optionally, complete the below app feedback.
III. If you're a Mac user, try the below troubleshooting tips.
1. Exit the client if you find the application is still running. For power users, note down the app info (e.g., those created installation info) first. To do this, run Activity Monitor in Utilities under the Applications folder.
2. Head over to the said Applications file folder, move the target software to Trash.
3. Save your job, restart your Mac. Try cleaning TunnelBear's remains in Library.
